Easy Thanksgiving Activities for Kids (Free Printable)

Blog / Easy Thanksgiving Activities for Kids (Free Printable)

Simple, low-prep Thanksgiving activities for kids in Pre-K to 5th grade, plus a free printable sampler to color while the turkey cooks.

1. A gratitude leaf garland

Cut leaf shapes from orange, red and brown paper. Each child writes or draws one thing they are thankful for, then you string the leaves across a window or the table. Younger kids can dictate while a grown-up writes.

2. Coloring at the kids’ table

A stack of coloring pages and a cup of crayons keeps little hands busy while dinner comes together. Print a few pages ahead of time so everyone can pick a favorite.

3. Thankful turkey count

Draw a big turkey body and let kids add a paper feather each time they name something they are grateful for. Count the feathers together at the end of the day for easy number practice.

4. Place cards made by kids

Fold an index card in half, write each guest’s name and let kids decorate it with leaves, pumpkins or pies. It gives them a real job at the table.

5. A quiet after-dinner reading corner

Set out blankets, a few autumn books and colored pencils for a calm wind-down after the meal.
